“Part of what I really like about your classes, Liz, (besides liking you!) is that your recipes are wonderful and creative and I've actually

made a number of them for family, friends and for myself.” Agatha

“We had a wonderful time eating our way through the evening on Saturday.

We all loved every dish. Dessert was incredible! I guess you could say the evening was a resounding success. Thank you so much for all your

hard work.”   Shary.

adult classes & dinner parties

Private Lunch or Dinner Cooking Parties*

Starting price: $360 for 6 students; each additional student $60.  Maximum 10.

3 or 4 courses of restaurant quality food, detailed recipes to keep, and patient demonstration of every technique involved

French, Italian-style, or Contemporary British & European Cuisine

Invite your guests to a relaxed, fun and informative gourmet evening, where they may learn how to cook a sumptuous feast, as well as enjoy a freshly-cooked 3-course dinner preceded by mouth-watering canapés, if you choose.  With the canapé option, Liz will bring home-made goodies for your guests to nibble while she demonstrates how to prepare each course (including the canapés).  Some guests may wish to participate, and will be heartily encouraged to help chop, stir, or assemble, and ask questions.  Others may simply prefer to watch the meal evolve before their eyes.  Whatever the decision, Liz ensures that a restaurant-quality meal is ready within 3 hours, or less, depending on number of participants.

Given the informality of the occasion, the appetizer is often eaten “on the hoof” while demonstration is still taking place, and the finishing touches are made to the entrée and dessert.  Hosts may be required to heat side dishes or slice desserts after Liz’s departure.  They will be given precise directions for this.

Hosts: when planning for a cooking dinner party, bear in mind that some of your guests will prefer to watch or chat among themselves, when some will enjoy participating fully. Liz adapts seamlessly to all manner of situations, including children who won’t go to bed, tipsy fathers-in-law, and even equipment refusing to function properly.  Invite friends who will enjoy the informality of this dining experience, and please ensure that we are aware of any food allergies or major dislikes when choosing the menu.

- Instruction includes clean-up of all cooking utensils.

- The kitchen will be restored to order, all surfaces and stove-tops cleaned and tidied.

- Liz will discreetly leave your house once she has cleaned up, so that you can enjoy the remainder of the evening with your guests.

- Your sole responsibility will be to clear and wash your own tableware (plates, cutlery, glasses, etc.), and to enjoy a successful evening.

*Suggested start times: Lunch 10.30 – 11 am, Dinner: 4.30 – 6.00 pm.
